ShellNews.net: 399 REASONS WHY JON CHADWICK, DEPARTING CHAIRMAN OF SHELL MALAYSIA, SHOULD BE HANGING HIS HEAD IN SHAME: Sun 8 January 2006

The above photograph was taken immediately after a Malaysian High Court ruled in favour of 399 former Shell employees known as "Team A" in an epic class action lawsuit. The Judge ruled that Shell had acted "unlawfully" in making deductions from the employee retirement pension funds. Under a hard-hearted unprincipled management, headed by Chairman Datuk Jon Chadwick, Shell has appealed the decision and is dragging out the litigation in the hope of evading its legal and moral obligations. It hopes to exploit a legal loophole relating to litigation time limits. In the meantime, many of the relevant former employees are elderly, sick and dying, while Jon Chadwick has been promoted for carrying out ruthless policies. Other former employees of Shell in Malaysia are also currently suing Shell. Naturally many current Shell employees are depressed and demoralised by the unscrupulous policies of a discredited scandal ridden Shell management.
